Our Father's House
Genesis 1 & 2
Home
Welcome

Recently it has come to my attention through questions asked by co-workers and associates that there are a lot of bible questions about the beginning. For example "What was the sin in the garden?" Or "How is it that Cain left the garden, went to the land of Nod and took a wife"? Well let's go to the word.

REV.1:8 I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord, which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty.
Mat.24:37 But as the days of Noe were, so shall also the coming of the son of man be.
38 For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying, and giving in marriage until the day that Noe entered into the ark
(Noe is the english translation from the greek translation for the name Noah). These scriptures and many more tell us that "as it was in the beginning, so shall it be in the end. Following is a study of the first 6 chapters of Genesis
                   Chapter 1

Gen.1:1 In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.

This verse has no time limit. Understand that this 1st age was millions of untold millions of years long. This knowledge helps us to rightly divine (divide) the Word. As an example take Jer.4:23-27.

23 "I beheld the earth, and lo, it was without form, and void; and the heavens, and they had no light.
24 I beheld the mountains, and, lo, they trembled, and all the hills moved lightly.
25 I beheld, and, lo, there was no man, and all the birds of the heavens were fled.
26 I beheld, and, lo, the fruitful place was a wilderness, and all the cities thereof were broken down at the presence of the LORD, and by his fierce anger.
27 For thus hath the LORD said, The whole land shall be desolate; yet will I not make a full end."

You'll notice this is not Noah's flood. There was no man or any living thing left alive, neither any city left standing. This ties right in with Genesis 1:1-2. The part that ties in with v.1 & 2 is God destroying the first earth and heaven age, where animals were flesh and man was in a spiritual body. But God decided not to make a full end. You know, God could have destroyed the one-third of his children that followed that great red dragon, Lucifer. But instead He created this flesh age to redeem that one-third.

2 And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.

The word was in this verse should have been translated as became void and without form.

(Documentation: The New Strong's Exhaustive Concordance of The Bible, isbn#0-8407-2072-6 (CB). Hebrew dictionary # 1961, haw-yaw; a prime root[comp.1933]; to exist, i.e. be or become, come to pass (always emphat., and not a mere copula or auxiliary):- beacon x altogether , be (-come), accomplished, committed, like), break, cause, come (to pass), do, faint, fall, + follow, happened, x have, last, pertain, quit, (one-)self, require, x use.)

Also in Gen.2:7, the word became, where it is used "and man became a living soul" this word in the hebrew, (haw-yaw) is the same word that was used in Gen.1:2 translated as the word was.

3 "And God said, let there be light: and there was light.
4 And God saw the light, that it was good: and God divided the light from the darkness.
5 And God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. And the evening and the morning were the first day".

In verse 3 we have the light and the darkness. But the sun and the moon is not created for another three days. To me the light is the brightness of Christ or the tree of life. You know Jesus himself said "I am the light". And the darkness is the dragon, the serpent, the fake christ. Call him by his name, Lucifer, Satan. He is the serpent, he is also the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. All through the Bible when you talk about the children of God and the prophesies of these children, you will always see the words day or light or sun or things to do with the light. All through the Bible when you talk about the serpent, and his children and prophesies of them, you will see words like night, darkness, moons, and/or months used for the children of Satan. Of course this is all just my opinion or is it? Never take another persons word for the truth. Check it out for yourself. Because no one will be between you and God on judgement day.

Rev.13:5 And there was given unto him a mouth speaking great things and blasphemies; and power was given unto him to continue forty and two months.

This is definitly end time prophesy about the anti-christ and the time he is given. Now go to Rev.11:2.

2 But the court which is without the temple leave out, and measure it not; for it is given unto the Gentiles: and the holy city shall they tread under foot forty and two months.

This is talking about the same time period and gives you the location of where the anti-christ will be sitting. Notice the prophesies in these verses are given in months and who they are talking about.

Rev.11:3 And I will give power unto my two witnesses, and they shall prophesy a thousand two hundred and threescore days, clothed in sackcloth.

Now here, we are given prophesy in days, not months or moons. We are definitly talking about children of the light. These two time periods are the same, one given by the lunar calender and one by the solar calender. Forty two months equal three and one half years by the lunar calender. 1260 days equal ten days longer than forty two months. So that would mean that the two witnesses will have ten days longer than the anti-christ. We can go to a lot of other places in the bible and prove the point I am trying to make about the dark and the light and the children of them. But I think for now this will do.

Gen.1:6 And God said, Let there be a firmament in the midst of the waters, and let it divide the waters from the waters.
7 And God made the firmament, and divided the waters which were under the firmament from the waters which were above the firmament: and it was so.
8 And God called the firmament Heaven. And the evening and the morning were the second day.

Let's call this separation of the firmament an expansion of space, time, and diminsions. Which is another study in itself. Okay, back to the word.

9 And God said, Let the waters under the heaven be gathered together unto one place, and let the dry land appear: and it was so.
10 And God called the dry land Earth; and the gathering together of the waters called he Seas: and God saw that it was good.
11 And God said, Let the earth bring forth grass, the herb yielding seed, and the fruit tree yielding fruit after his kind, whose seed is in itself, upon the earth: and it was so.

This is the beginning of this earth age where man was made flesh and was also to replenish the earth. How can the world be replenished if it was not plentiful before? Oh well, I don't want to get ahead of the word. So let's go back to it.

12 And the earth brought forth grass, and herb yielding seed after his kind, and the tree yielding fruit, whose seed was in itself, after his kind: and God saw that it was good.
13 And the evening and the morning were the third day.

What is a day with God? Was this a twenty four hour period or
1000 years? What does the word say about this? So let's go to 2 Peter:3.8

8 "But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day."

I think that we can definitly apply this to these scriptures in Gen. So let's say so far 3000 years have gone by at this time. Back to the Gen.1:14

14 And God said, Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days, and years:

Did you notice the difference between the light and the dark in this verse and the light and dark in verses 3 and 4 of Gen.1?

15 And let them be for lights in the firmament and the heaven to give light upon the earth: and it was so.
16 And God made two great lights; the greater light to rule the day, and the lesser light to rule the night: he made the stars also.
17 And God set them in the firmament of the heaven to give light upon the earth,
18 And to rule over the day and over the night, and to divide the light from the darkness: and God saw that it was good.

Let's remember that one of the main reasons that God put the stars, sun and moon in the firmament was to divide the light from the dark and for SIGNS. Anybody seen any signs lately? What about Hale-Bopp or the lunar eclipses where the moon has turned red in color? Or how about eight planets lined up in a row? Do you think maybe these could be signs? I'll say this much about it, they are lights in the fimament put there for signs.

19 And the evening and the morning were the fouth day.

      (Or 4000 years)

20 And God said, Let the waters bring forth abundantly the moving creature that hath life, and fowl that may fly above the earth in the open firmanent of heaven.
21 And God created great whales, and every living creature that moveth, which the waters brought forth abundantly, after their kind, and every winged fowl after his kind: and God saw that it was good.
22 And God blessed them, saying , Be fruitful, and multiply, and fill the waters in the seas, and let fowl multiply in the earth.
23 And the evening and the morning were the fifth day.
24 And God said, Let the earth bring forth the living creature after his kind, cattle, and creeping thing, and beast of the earth after his kind: and it was so.
25 And God made the beast of the earth after his kind, and cattle after their kind, and everything that creepeth upon the earth after his kind: and God saw that it was good.
26 And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.

God = (Elohim Pasek) God who carries out the purpose.
created = (bara) to create, select. Not "formed" as in Gen 2:7.
own = *Omit*. This word is not in the Heb text.
      image = illusion, shadow. Ps 139:14 Isa 43:7 Eph 2:10 4:24 Col 1:15
      Many races of people created.
Adam created later (next chapter) for he has a special purpose to fulfill (for his linage carries the seed of Christ). The singular man Adam is not "created" but "formed as a potter's vessel from the clay".

      Strong's:
430 'elohiym (el-o-heem');plural of 433; gods in the ordinary sense; but specifically used (in the plural thus, especially with the article) of the supreme God; occasionally applied by way of deference to magistrates; and sometimes as a superlative:
KJV-- angels, X exceeding, God (gods)- dess, -ly), X (very) great, judges, X mighty.

27 So God created man in His own image, in the image of God created He him; male and female created He them.

Let's look at the word "image" from the Strong's.

      Image:
6754 tselem (tseh'-lem);from an unused root meaning to shade; a phantom, i.e. (figuratively) illusion, resemblance; hence, a representative figure, especially an idol: KJV-- image, vain shew.

You should notice that there was a group of animals; fowls, whales, and creeping things after it's kind. God told them to multiply and saw that it was good. Man and woman in this verse was not formed from the dust of the ground. Man and woman were not created separately on this day, but at the same time. In their own image.

28 And God blessed them and God said unto them, "Be fruitful, and, multiply and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.
29 And God said, "Behold, I have given you every herb bearing seed, which is upon the face of the earth, and every tree, in the which is the fruit of a tree yielding seed; to you it shall be for meat.

In verse 28 there are a couple of things we don't need to look over. The word replenished. I ask you, how can you replenish something if it was not plenished before? Father also gave them jobs: dominion over the fish, the fowl, and every living thing that moveth. What I see here is that God made them hunters and fishers. In v.29 He gives them every herb bearing seed and every tree bearing fruit for meat.

30 And to every beast of the earth, and to every fowl of the air, and to every thing that creepth upon the earth, wherein there is life, I have given every green herb for meat: "and it was so.
31 And God saw every thing that He had made, and, behold, it was very good. And the evening and the morning where the sixth day.

The six day creation of man makes up the ethnic peoples of the world. So let's look at the ethnic people of the world. What is in written history? Did you know that the written history of the Chinese is 2000 years older than any others? Let's look at their diet. Do they not basically take their food from the water, from the seas? Why even their wheat, called rice, is grown in water. They are basically fishers. And if you look at the rest of the ethnic races you will see that they are all basically hunters and fishers. AND GOD SAID IT WAS GOOD, VERY GOOD!

Chapter 2

1 THUS THE heavens and the earth were finished, and all the host of them.
2 And on the seventh day God ended his work which he had made; and he rested on the seventh day from all his work which he made.
3 And God blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it: because that in it he had rested from all his work which God created and made.
4 These are the generations of the heavens and of the earth when they were created, in the day that the Lord God made the earth and the heavens,
5 And every plant of the field before it was in the earth, and every herb of the field before it grew: for the Lord God had not caused it to rain upon the earth, and there was not a man to till the ground.
6 But there went up a mist from the earth, and watered the whole face of the ground.
7 And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.

You will notice in verse 5, that God did not have a man to till the ground. He had hunters and fishers, but not a gardener. His gardener He formed from the dirt, not created as six day man was created. The seventh day has passed and/or seven thousand years. And I ask you what number comes after seven? So we could say this is the beginning of the eight day.

8 And the Lord God planted a garden eastward in Eden; and there he put the man whom he had formed.
9 And out of the ground made the Lord God to grow every tree that is pleasant to the sight, and good for food; the tree of life also in the midst of the garden, and the tree of knowledge of good and evil.

Even God himself wanted you to recognise the difference between the two creations of man by using the word formed in verse eight, not created. In verse 8 God planted a garden and put the man that He had formed from the dirt, to till the dirt, in the garden that He had created. In verse 9 He uses trees that represent the light and the dark, the tree of life and the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. Who do you think these trees represent? But let's not get to far ahead.

10 And a river went out of Eden to water the garden; and from thence it was parted, and became into four heads.
    11 The name of the first is Pison: that is it which compasseth the whole land of Havilah, where there is gold;
12 And the gold of that land is. good: there is bdellium and the onyx stone.
13 And the name of the second river is Gihon: the same is it that compasseth the whole land of Ethiopia.
14 And the name of the third river is Hiddekkel: that is it which goeth toward the east of Assyria. And the fourth river is Euphrates.

I would like to go to the Stongs and see what the meaning is for the rivers are.

6376 Piyshown (pee-shone');from 6335; dispersive; Pishon, a river of Eden: KJV-- Pison.

6335 puwsh (poosh);a primitive root; to spread; figuratively, act proudly: KJV-- grow up, be grown fat, spread selves, be scattered.

1521 Giychown (ghee-khone');or (shortened) Gichown (ghee-khone'); from 1518; stream; Gichon, a river of Paradise; also a valley (or pool) near Jerusalem: KJV-- Gihon.

1518 giyach (ghee'-akh);or (shortened) goach (go'-akh); a primitive root; to gush forth (as water), generally to issue:
KJV-- break forth, labor to bring forth, come forth, draw up, take out.

2313 Chiddeqel (khid-deh'-kel);probably of foreign origin; the Chiddekel (or Tigris) river:

6578 Perath (per-awth');from an unused root meaning to break forth; rushing; Perath (i.e. Euphrates), a river of the East:
    KJV-- Euphrates.

15 And the Lord God took the man, and put him into the garden of Eden to dress it and to keep it.
16 And the Lord God commanded the man, saying, Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat:
17 But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die.
18 And the Lord God said, It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him an help meet for him.
19 And out of the ground the Lord God formed every beast of the field, and every fowl of the air; and brought them unto Adam to see what he would call them: and whatsoever Adam called every living creature, that was the name thereof.
20 And Adam gave names to all cattle, and to the fowl of the air, and to every beast of the field; but for Adam there was not found an help meet for him.

I see in verse 19 God forming more beast of the field and fowl of the air. These are not the wild beast or fowl of the air that He created on the fifth day. He's forming these from the ground not creating them as he did on the fifth day. These animals are the domestic animals that are going to help Adam till the ground and be a farmer.

    21 And the Lord God caused a deep sleep to fall upon Adam, and he slept: and he took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh instead thereof;
22 And the rib, which the Lord God had taken from man, made he a woman, and brought her unto the man.

The word rib is not in the manuscripts. The prime root of the word rib is word number 6760 in the hebrew dictionary of the Strong's Concordance.
    This word is: tsaw-lah, meaning 'to curve'6763 tsela` (tsay-law');
or (feminine) tsal` ah (tsal-aw'); from 6760; a rib (as curved), literally (of the body) or figuratively (of a door, i.e. leaf); hence, a side, literally (of a person) or figuratively (of an object or the sky, i.e. quarter); architecturally, a (especially floor or ceiling) timber or plank (single or collective, i.e. a flooring):KJV-- beam, board, chamber, corner, leaf, plank, rib, side (chamber).
We are just now beginning to understand the curve of the DNA helix or curve of the DNA strand. And by the way; man and woman have the same amount of ribs. Don't believe me ask your doctor.

23 And Adam said, This is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh: she shall be called Woman, because she was
    taken out of Man.
24 Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh.
25 And they were both naked, the man and his wife, and were not ashamed.
